Robin Thicke's main squeeze looks to capitalize on her role in Baggage Claim with a role that could potentially make her the Princess Leia for a new nerd generation.
Director Duncan Jones is quite the character on his own Twitter feed, but if you don't follow the Moon and Source Code filmmaker online, you'd never know that he's adapting a video game into a movie.
Now, he's deep into casting the picture and is apparently considering actress Paula Patton and actor Colin Farrell for two of the leads in the sprawling MMORPG game known as World of Warcraft. According to sources, Patton's deal is said to be "in negotiation," while Farrell is still on the fence about whether or not he wants to take part in the project.
There's no doubt that Jones would be considering other male leads as a back up if Farrell doesn't sign on the dotted line. Based on the immensely popular video game from Blizzard Entertainment, the plot of the film will be written by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond) and is under lock and key. The world of Warcraft, for those who don't know, involves all manner of magic, medieval mania, and battles between mystical creatures, and provides epic entertainment for those who have been fans since its inception in 1994.
Legendary Pictures will be producing the film, with Universal distributing globally, as Jones and company will start shooting in January for release in 2015.
