Former New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress has finally moved to the prison where he'll be serving his two-year-term.
On Wednesday morning, Burress settled into the Ulster Correctional Facility in Napanoch, New York. He'll be staying in protective custody with about 18 other inmates in his unit.
He was originally being held at Rikers Island and then the Fishkill Correctional Facility. The former football star was sentenced last Tuesday on one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon after being indicted on two counts of weapons possession and one count of reckless endangerment.
The conviction stems from an incident in November at Latin Quarter nightclub in Manhattan, where Burress accidentally shot himself in the thigh. He was not licensed to carry a concealed weapon. --Linda Hobbs
