The Porsche 911 Goes Green

Provided you can afford one, there’s a lot of reasons to get a Porsche. They’re fast, they’re flashy, they’re fly… and those are just the adjectives that fall on the pages labeled “F” in the dictionary! In fact, if you can afford one and you really need a reason to cop a Porsche, well, you probably need more than VIBE.com’s “The Goods” column to save you. But there was always one glaring reason not to get a Porsche: They haven’t traditionally been green. Sure, they mighta cost you a lot of green, but when it came to saving the environment, they were practically useless. Enter the 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid (try saying that five times fast!). It’s got a pair of electric motors that help it move. Of course, no one will really care. They’ll just know you have a Porsche. But by doing your part for the environment, at least you’ll be able to sleep better at night, right? —Chris Yuscavage
