"Precious" Earns 6 Oscar Noms

Oscar nominations are in and Precious locked in six nominations. They include Best Picture, Best Actress (Gabourey Sidibe), Best Supporting Actress (Mo'Nique), Best Director (Lee Daniels), Best Adapted Screenplay (Geoffrey Fletcher), and Best Film Editing.

Another big nomination went the way of Morgan Freeman, nominated in the Best Actor category for his role as Nelson Mandela in Invictus. The Oscars winners will be announced March 7 when Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin host the Academy Awards ceremony, which will be broadcast live by ABC from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. —Jamal Munnerlyn
