When 16 year-old student Ares Carter was asked by his high school principal to DJ his school’s recent semi-formal, he gladly accepted, knowing secretly that he would kill the precedent. Like any other year, Ares’ principal figured he was inviting a student to stumble through a predictable list of Top 40 radio hits. In reality, Ares Carter is an obsessive disciple of electronic music, living, breathing, and absorbing it into his every fiber. Instead of the usual soundtrack, Ares Carter conducted his class in an evening of incendiary beat-dropping, melodic revelry, and sweaty euphoria. That semi-formal will never be the same again.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Hardwell, Alesso, and Arty, Ares Carter combines delicate and innovative melodies with powerful progressive house vibes. Ares Carter distinguishes himself with unique sounds – warmly embracing instrumentation that is often unfamiliar to the EDM landscape. Wampa, Ares Carter’s official debut track, does exactly that by establishing its primary anthem with the ringing of a Glockenspiel.
His forthcoming release of Wampa (January 27 via Big & Dirty Recordings) can be heard below exclusively on VIBE before drops. Wamp it up:
