Premiere: Quincy Vidal ‘Pillow’ Video

Music

Adelle Platon / January 6, 2014

Feelings and feathers fly in Quincy Vidal’s latest visual “Pillow.” The lyrical tandem, comprised of Le’Asha Julius and C.E., birthed their relationship on wax after becoming fast friends as freshmen at SUNY Purchase in 2008.

While the two initially established that Caleb would man the mic and Le’Asha would be a singer/ DJ, the two soon found that they could both contribute bars. Grabbing inspiration from the likes of Common, D’Angelo, Erykah Badu and The Rainbow Children, Quincy Vidal is on a mission to bring back the “’90s golden R&B and hip-hop” and have since released two projects: The Cookin In’ Brooklyn (2010) and Sentimental Moods (2012).

“Our biggest thing ever is that rather than take your money, we want to take your ears,” C.E. says about releasing their albums for free. “I mean we wanna make a living out of this but we want people to hear it first and know this is something they want to invest in.”

Catch the Bed Stuy-bred duo lay down more pillow talk in the Nick von Gremp-directed video above.
