While it may be hard to believe, the Purple One is a hardcore sports fanatic. Which may explain why acclaimed music icon Prince has written a fight song "Purple And Gold" for his hometown team the Minnesota Vikings.
Over the years Prince, who actually played point guard for his Minnesota high school basketball team (yes, that classic Chappelle's Show sketch in which Charlie Murphy gets his ass handed to him on the hardwood by the high heeled guitar-shreading legend is for real) has been seen sitting courtside at Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves games.
But after witnessing the the Vikings demolish the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday, Prince was inspired to record the track, telling a local Minnesota Fox news affiliate: "I saw the future."
