Prince and his all-chick backing band 3rd Eye Girl made a super rare TV appearance Friday on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. There to celebrate Fallon's four years in the late night spot, "one of the most legendary and influential musicians of all time" performed two tracks -- the newbie “Screwdriver” and “Bambi," off his 1979 sophomore LP Prince.
For the performance, Prince borrowed the Roots guitarist Kirk Lloyd Douglas' axe. After performing the second song "Bambi," he chucked it in the air and sauntered off stage. The guitar did not fully survive the fall and will require some mending.
"Maybe it's because I'm a dad but I think framing the guitar is a little like rewarding bad behavior," Douglas tweeted after the show.
Fallon announced Prince will be kicking off a West Coast tour in mid-April. Dates will roll out soon.
