Hip-Hop's drifting electronic fusion continues to commence as one of the most notorious labels plans to resurrect under new management.
Capitol Records and Insurgency records recently announced they have partnered to revive Priority Records, the former haven for N.W.A., Ice Cube, Eazy E, Snoop Dogg and others. Priority Records was largely instrumental in launching each of their careers during the 90's and pioneering the gangsta rap movement.
According to BillboardBiz, the label will now focus on producers and crafting electronic and progressive urban music. Hip-Hop producer Harry Fraud- who recently collaborated with Action Bronson has landed a deal that includes his Surf School imprint joining Priority. Insurgency co-founder Michael Cohen will serve as President of the company, which was originally established in 1985, later dissolving in 1998.
Priority will officially relaunch August 13 with the visual debut of Bauuer, Jay Z and Just Blaze' trap hit "Higher."
