Coors Light gave next generation of MCs a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their skills online, in the studio, and before large crowds but only Mr. Hyde was crowned the winner of this year's contest.
Completing its third year, Coors Light's Search for the Coldest was the biggest to date, with concerts in eight markets around the country featuring headliners Juicy J, Pusha T, French Montana, and Big Sean.
With over 270,000 online votes, Coors Light and hip-hop legend Ice Cube gave Chicago rep Mr. Hyde the Coldest MC title, during the grand finale at New York City’s Stage 48 on Thursday (August 1). The event featured special performances by Ice Cube and recording artist Big Sean.
Mr. Hyde is a signee of Necro's Psycho Logical Records, and is most known for his breakout record "Grimy Thug Shit," produced by Havoc of Mobb Deep. He also has a clothing line dedicated to his rap moniker.
Bun B and DJ Drama joined Ice Cube as hosts and judges at the concert event, where Mr. Hyde was awarded $20,000.
