We didn't see this coming. American sweetheart and actress Reese Witherspoon was arrested for disorderly conduct on early Friday morning. The actress -- mother to Ava (13), Deacon (9) and Tennessee (6 months) -- was booked after mouthing off to cops, who were arresting her husband of two years, Jim Toth, for a DUI.
The couple were in Atlanta, where Witherspoon is currently filming the flick The Good Lie.
Toth, an agent at CAA, was pulled over after driving in the wrong lane, reports Variety. His blood alcohol level was .139 following a Breathalyzer test. Witherspoon was none too happy with the whole thing, especially at how long the booking was taking. Ordered by the cops to stay in the car, the Oscar winner decided against being an abiding citizen and got out of the car.
Witherspoon asked the arresting officers, “Do you know my name?” According to the police report, the cop answered, “No, I don’t need to know your name,” and then added, “right now.” Witherspoon rebuked with “You’re about to find out who I am, " and then the follow-up zinger, "You are going to be on national news."
Toth, 42, and Witherspoon, 37, were both released on bond at 3:30AM on Friday morning, and have a court date scheduled for Monday at 8AM in Atlanta.
