Whitney Houston died tragically a year ago, on the eve of the 2012 Grammys. Houston, who was staying at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for Clive Davis' annual Pre-Grammy Gala, was found upstairs in her hotel room bathtub, lifeless after an accidental drowning. She was 48.
In an unusual move, the 2012 Pre-Grammy Gala carried on. The event turned into an impromptu celebration of Houston's life and music. Davis honored Houston again at last night's Pre-Grammy Gala, calling her “a great love of my life." A year after her untimely death, VIBE looks back on Houston's life in our special digital magazine issue titled Death Of An Angel.
