DJ, producer and vocalist, Lea Luna, curates 10 recent EDM releases to kick off the week proper.

1. DJ Sneak- “Night Dish EP”
House legend DJ Sneak had his infamous grill and barbecue sessions in mind when he crafted this savory EP entitled “Night Dish,” a perfect selection to welcome the summer months ahead.

2. Michael Jackson- “Love Never Felt So Good” (Fedde LeGrand remix)
If a posthumous release by Michael Jackson is not headlining news enough, let Fedde LeGrand crank it up a notch. When Fedde was asked to make this scintillating EDM remix out of such a milestone of a single, he humbly replied:
“Being asked to remix this single has been the most honorable and at the same time scary and exciting thing that’s ever happened to me. For me the most amazing thing would be if via this remix I can contribute – if only a little bit – in bridging the gap between the 1980’s and 2014. There is so much really good music from the past that would still have its relevance today and Michael just simply is the King of all stuff that was ever out there.”

3. Above and Beyond- “Sticky Fingers” feat. Alex Vargas
Above and Beyond’s new music video “Sticky Fingers” featuring Alex Vargas is a shining example of how sincerely artistic they are. The video is shot as film noir, inspired by the classic film “Vertigo” by Alfred Hitchcock. The song itself is full of musicality that true A&B fans would expect, and that typical EDM producers would struggle to accomplish.

4. Jumodaddy- “Black Horse”
Only a few days since it’s release, “Black Horse” is already running full speed toward the top of the Beatport Glitch Hop charts. Part of the “Four Horses” EP, the apocalyptic beats coupled with strong, beautiful progressions make this release worth listening to the very end.

5. Lazy Rich, Hot Mouth- “Flash”
Lazy Rich and Hot Mouth compliment each other well. Both of them are known individually for consistently putting out fun, funky, party-activating hits. Together, they’ve just taken their music’s character to great heights, including the Beatport top 10 electro tracks this week, where their monster track “Flash” belongs.

6. Nicole Moudaber- “I Know Where I’ve Been”
The Queen of techno has a brand new EP out called “Bittersweet” that includes this tasteful track “I know where I’ve been.” Fashioned for the ear of a refined dance music enthusiast, this track begins with a deep, hypnotic build that explodes into rolling, funky techno about 6 minutes in.

7. Kevin Saunderson- “Bad Girl” feat. Inner City (7th Star remix)
Here’s a nice deep house remix of a great tune. Hints of beatbox cut through the deep groove, layered with the housey “Bad Girl” vocal that makes the 5-remix release it came from truly recognizable.

8. Triad Dragons- “Chaos”
The “heavy-hitting electro anthem” is the flavor of the Triad Dragons. Each of their releases is geared to rock gigantic EDM festivals, particularly Global Dance festival at the famous Red Rocks amphitheater which they play a major part in every year. “Chaos” is exactly that, with a bit of trap element dropped right in the middle to keep it trill. 9. Sander Van Doorn, Martin Garrix, DVBBS- “Gold Skies” feat. Aleesia

This video certainly does the song justice. The vocal and production are both simply beautiful, painting a picture that many festival travelers can relate with.

10. Jesse Voorn- “Moving”
Here is a total banger on Michael Woods’ Diffused label, with menacing builds and drops that are as huge as huge could be. It’s no wonder that Jesse Voorn is making his way to the top with support from Tiësto, David Guetta, Chuckie, Laidback Luke, and Axwell, among many others.
