VIBE rounds up five hip-hop songs from last week that should be on your itunes playlist-–Sowmya Krishnamurthy

The Weeknd “Kiss Land”/”John Carpenter”

The Weeknd returns with two new tracks, “Kiss Land” which leads into “John Carpenter.” The mysterious Toronto crooner is still cry/singing, but he’s clearly enjoying his newfound success. From oral sex references to telling you that he really isn’t into “kissing leading into nothing,” the boy Abel is feeling himself. Watch out, girls.

Kanye West “So Awesome”

Kanye performed a new, emo track reportedly called “So Awesome” this week in NYC as part of the Adult Swim Upfront party. On the Auto-Tuned song, Kanye sings about someone “so awesome.” We’re putting our money on baby mama Kim Kardashian. P.S. Make sure to check out Ye’s rant about how hard it is to be a superstar celebrity.

Ciara feat. Future B.o.B. “Body Party (Remix)”

Ciara’s “Body Party” gets an uptempo kick (care of the original Ghosttown DJs “My Boo” beat) and a verse from B.o.B.

Kelly Rowland “Dirty Laundry” (prod. The-Dream)

Kelly Rowland airs out her dirty laundry on the aptly-titled “Dirty Laundry” (produced by The-Dream). In it, she blasts her ex boo for being abusive (Wha?!) and an all-around scumbag. Wonder if this is about former finance Roy Williams?

Solange feat. Kendrick Lamar “Looks Good With Trouble”

Solange plays with trouble on “Looks Good With Trouble.” The song, which initially appeared on her True EP gets a verse from K Dot. Solo is working on new music and just announced her new label imprint, Saint Records.
