Rick Ross Talks Meeting Kanye West, Rise To Rap Fame And More On Juan Epstein

The Bawse was in high spirits as Rick Ross swapped dialogue with Peter Rosenberg and DJ Cipha Sounds on their Juan Epstein podcast about his rap beginnings. He touched on the influence of his hometown Miami, creating his own mixtapes in junior high school under his adolescent label Chill Will Records, and nearly signing his “Knife Fight” collaborator Kool G Rap to his MMG empire.

“It’s good to see the homie is still on his feet,” the “No Games” rapper said. Rozay also detailed his brief affiliation with Slip-N-Slide records, and working with Kanye West in the beginning of their careers, when “the beats were hella cheap.”
