Similar to Wale citing 2 Chainz as an instrument for his deal to Maybach Music Group, the “LoveHate Thing” rapper’s Bawse sat down for an interview with DJ Skee and mentioned that he played a role in another MC’s label deal: Pusha T signing to G.O.O.D. Music.
During a recording session in Hawaii for Kanye West’s 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, the Miami-native name-dropped Push A Ton, saying, “…that boy Pusha T, man, that boy dope. He don’t got no situation right now. That’s something you should sleep on.” Kanye evidently took the Teflon Don’s recommendation strongly as Push signed with his label later that year.
Ross also talked about the thought process behind his upcoming album Mastermind, slated to drop Dec. 17. Screen the interview above.
