Rihanna mult-itasked for a great cause on her recent trip to New York City. During an exclusive Unapologetic listening session, the "Diamonds" singer teamed with the NY Daily News to collect goods for Hurricane Sandy victims.
After stopping through the Big Apple earlier this week to perform at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, she headed to Jay-Z's prestigious 40/40 club for a special rendezvous with media fans and her "Navy" to preview her album. She only granted access to fans who had donations in tow.
"Hurricane Sandy has deeply affected the lives of millions all across the Eastern Seaboard," RiRi wrote in an email to NYDN. "Many are still without power, heat, and the basic supplies necessary to rebuild in the aftermath of such a horrific event."
Rih herself had pledged 1,000 new sleeping bags to the newspaper's ongoing relief effort. "I'm so excited," Rihanna told an NYDN reporter as she mingled with her fans. "I didn't know all these people were coming, but it's all for a good cause."
While her seventh studio effort hits stores Nov. 19, you can preview snippets from the LP here.
