Rihanna is more than just her bad gal image. While her Instagram selfies and rockstar lifestyle dictate public opinion, her choices in love make her almost human.
It's been more than four years since the 2008 Grammy Awards assault that left a huge dent in her relationship with Chris Brown. Though restraining orders were implemented and random flashes of aggression shown, Breezy pled guilty, performed community service and still remains on probation. However, when Rih makes a cameo on his photo map, neither can keep out of controversy's mouth.
In a revealing new interview with Rolling Stone, Rihrih says that her reunion with Chris was her own doing. "I decided it was more important for me to be happy," the cover girl says. "I wasn't going to let anybody's opinion get in the way of that. Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it."
For the naysayers who say this sequel of the love saga is bound to crash and burn, Rih assures it's different now. "We don't have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about shit. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that."
As for his anger management issues, the Bajan songbird says there's no second chances in this love game. "He doesn't have the luxury of fucking up again," she says. "That's just not an option. I can't say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I'm pretty solid in the knowing that he's disgusted by that. And I wouldn't have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility."
