Rihanna is taking her former accountants to court over allegations concerning the loss of millions from her four national and international tours.
The Bajan beauty filed the lawsuit under her government name, Robyn Fenty in Manhattan federal court and is suing New York-based Berdon LLP for an unspecified amount.
According to a report by the Associated Press, the firm drained tens of millions of dollars of her tour revenue over a five year period. The lawsuit further states the accountants managed to pocket 22% of the revenue while giving Rihanna only 6%.
Upon firing the accountants in September 2010, Rihanna’s team noticed an extreme turnaround of profits from her next few tours. Her lawyers are also suing the firm for money spent during an ongoing IRS audit of her funds due to their negligence.
The singer hired the firm when she was 16 years-old and beginning her career. Representatives of Berdon LLP have yet to issue a comment on this situation.
