Politics is a touchy subject for celebs but Waka Flocka Flame, Swizz Beatz, and Tyrese have taken to their social media platforms to speak out against the economic and political turmoil plaguing The Middle East. But it was pop star Rihanna's stance that attracted the most attention. The songstress tweeted the trending hashtag "#FreePalestine" just before deleting it (July 15).
She followed in the footsteps of NBA star Dwight Howard, who also tweeted “#FreePalestine” then retracted it, saying, “Previous tweet was a mistake. I have never commented on international politics and never will.” A source told TMZ that Rih's tweet was a mistake.
The bad gal did, however, offer some consolation by posting this on her timeline:
Let's pray for peace and a swift end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict! Is there any hope?.... pic.twitter.com/jHD56KXkcu
