Robin Roberts Returns Home After Having Surgery

Robin Roberts Returns Home After Having Surgery

VIBE Pop Culture Posted October 12, 2012

America has been following the ongoing saga involving Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts since she was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder known as MDS. Since announcing that she suffers from myelodysplastic syndrome, Roberts battle has been quite the uphill journey, but she has never lost faith. On Thursday morning, the ABC co-anchor tweeted good news that everyone can enjoy, writing, "There's no place like home," to her 340k-plus followers. "After 30 days in the hospital, I'm home. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Thank YOU and bless YOU. XO."

Roberts went home Wednesday afternoon, and was shown in a video welling up as she saw the sky and felt the fresh air on her face. Quickly Robin took to her blog to let America know that her battle with MDS isn't over yet, noting, "Far from it! I am considered 21 days old. That's how long it has been since my transplant." Robin Roberts will be resting away from GMA and the public eye until she is given the A-OK by her physicians. But we can only imagine just how awesome of a feeling it is to be able to sleep in your own bed. Roberts' doctor, Gail Roboz and her medical team, was highly praised by the GMA co-anchor, yet Dr. Roboz said on the morning show that "it has not been an easy journey for the TV star."
