“Blurred Lines” may be Robin Thicke‘s most successful song to date, but it’s certainly come with a plethora of drama.

Since its release, the family of legendary singer Marvin Gaye has claimed that the song is a ripoff of “Got to Give It Up.” While it was assumed they would bring a copyright infringement suit against Thicke, Williams and T.I., the latter decided to prevent the inevitable by filing their own lawsuit against the family.

Filed in a California federal court, the plaintiffs also target Bridgeport Music, who claims “Blurred Lines” sounds like Funkadelics’ “S*xy Ways.”
