Game drops his “dope” fifth album, Jesus Piece, today (Dec. 11), but don’t expect the Roman Catholic Church to be picking up a copy.

“The Roman Catholic Church called Interscope, and it got really crazy,” the Game tells VIBE about the cover art for the 16-track, deluxe release of Jesus Piece. An image of the “Holy Water” rapper portraying a “Black Jesus” adorned by gang-related symbols was met with criticism and controversy from even his own fan base when unveiled this past October.

Game put controversy aside for the standard version Jesus Piece artwork. An old photo of the rapper’s late brother, Jevon, who was gunned down when Game was only 15 years old, graces the 12-track copy of the album. Adds the Game, “That was the day that changed my life.”
