After Joss Whedon let the cat out of the bag about the Avengers sequel, everyone has been watching to see what direction the film has taken. Could Elizabeth Olsen be the next step in the right one?
In The Avengers: Age of Ultron, the focus has shifted from Thanos to Ultron, an automaton with an attitude. According to Slash Film, Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass 2) expressed interest in playing Quicksilver, one half of the brother and sister mutant duo that goes at odds with the Avengers before they team up to help defeat Ultron.
Word around the web is that with Saoirse Ronan passing on the role of Wanda Maximoff (Quicksilver's sister), Whedon and Marvel have shifted their attentions on to Elizabeth Olsen. The 24-year-old actress has the charisma to play the Chaos Magic wielder and she's smart. With the X-Men over at another studio, there's not much Whedon can do with her full comic book history where — spoiler alert! — Magneto is revealed to be her father.
Olsen would need to brush up on her spell book to be able to chant those words the role demands, but that shouldn't be such a big deal for her. If she signs up to join this cast of top-drawer talent, she'll be getting to work the first quarter of 2014.
In the meantime, you can see the scene-stealer in Spike Lee's Oldboy, Gareth Edwards' Godzilla, and Kill Your Darlings.
