With pundits all amped over the possible release of next-gen consoles for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation, an ambitious young gamer has added some fuel to the fire with a leaked image.
The grainy image, which you can see above, comes courtesy of XBLA stan Xboxygen and is rumored to be the Kinect 2 dev tool in action. For those unfamiliar with the current iteration of the Xbox Kinect, let's bring you up to speed! It is a motion sensing input device by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 that is based around a webcam-style add-on peripheral for the console. Enabling gamers to control and interact with the Xbox 360 dashboard and related games, without the need to touch a game controller, this made a splash in the industry and has been modded much to delight of developers and gamers alike.
A report last week suggested that the dev kits for the new Xbox — codenamed Durango — were distributed in February, which has resulted in this screenshot appearing online. If you notice, you can see the users individual fingers and even the shape of clothes.
As new iterations of both Xbox and PlayStation being touted to appear towards the end of 2013, we will just have to sit back and watch as the future comes live and in 3-D.
