Rising stars Michael B. Jordan and David Oyelowo have come into the spotlight, and rumor is, J.J. Abrams wants somebody to play a role in the next Star Wars film.
Latino Review is battling a great lifetime average in the rumor reports this year, as their latest finds the two buzz-worthy actors joining Episode VII. According to the site, Oyelowo "went in" for unnamed role while Jordan has met with Abrams himself. No word has yet came out about if the two are competing for the sale role, or whether they're playing two entirely different characters.
Both are no stranger to working with Lucasfilm, since the pair worked together with George Lucas on the Tuskegee Airmen drama Red Tails.
Oyelowo, who has lit up screens globally in projects like The Butler and Jack Reacher, has been on the verge of hitting the best leading male category for a while now. Jordan, also, has been a name thrown around in Hollywood insider circles, with his rumored appearances in Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot causing quite a storm. Him and Fruitvale Station director, Ryan Coogler, will rejoin forces for Creed, a spinoff from the Rocky franchise.
Abrams hopes that Episode VII will feel "real," while we believe the picture aims to use the talents of real superstars. What role do you see Michael B. Jordan and David Oyelowo play? A mature, yet brash Mace Windu before his Jedi training? Teenage Lando Calrissian?
