Super mogul Russell Simmons is considering buying a TV network. He tells The Hollywood Reporter that his ideal goal with the network would be to better reflect America's diversity.
Simmons told The Hollywood Reporter that the network would be integrated and truly diverse, not segregated, which is what he feels is the current standard. He thinks networks believe that diversity means segregation and that even when they do incorporate other cultures, they tend to just air a Black show as opposed to depicting and integrating several of the cultures that exist in the US.
The Def Jam Recordings honcho also revealed that he's working with Brian Grazer and Ron Howard on a television project. A formal announcement about Simmons' TV plan is coming soon.
