Samsung may have lost the patent battle against Apple, but that doesn't mean it has lost the Digital War.
A new ad, which was shown to Mashable, features the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone paired against the newly-announced iPhone 5, and stacks the specs between the two. The advert will start running in various national and regional papers on Sunday.
What's first noticeable about the ad is its tagline, which is an obvious right hook to Tim Cook and Apple: "It doesn't take a genius." Not only does it refer to Apple's "Genius" retail employees, Samsung also implies that deciding between the two devices is easy as a piece of cake.
In terms of the list of features that separate the Galaxy S III from the iPhone 5, you have quite a few to choose from: the Galaxy S III is much longer than the iPhone 5, beats it in terms of HD resolution, talk time and RAM. It also features near-field communications (NFC) technology, which is not included in the iPhone 5, and allows users to pay at checkout with a mobile phone.
