Scandal! New ABC Series Stars Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington will be starring in ABC's new series Scandal!

The 35-year-old actress is set to play the role of Olivia Pope, DC crisis consultant for celebrity scandals. As Olivia, she will take on the task of fixing the images of scandalous politicians, musicians and A-list celebs.

The show follows a storyline inspired by real life celebrity crisis manager Judy Smith, who is best known for working to resolve the scandal surrounding the former mayor of DC, Marion Barry's, drug bust. The summary of the show is as follows: “Pope dedicates her life to protecting and defending the public images of our nation’s elite. After leaving the White House, the power consultant opened her own firm, hoping to start a new chapter—both professionally and personally—but she can’t seem to completely cut ties with her past.”

Columbus Short and Guiilermo Diaz join Kerry as part of the cast of ABC's latest drama which premieres tonight at 10 p.m. -- Jazmine Gray
