Scoop Deville Speaks On Upcoming Solo And Duo Clipse Albums, Remixing Linkin Park

Posted September 13, 2010

Pusha T may have experienced his official G.O.O.D. Music anointment as he shared the closing performance with Kanye West, but that doesn't mean his Clipse records are coming to an end.

According to producer Scoop DeVille, who's been cutting records with both of the Thornton brothers, there are both solo and group projects on the way from the Clipse.

“I’ve been in the studio with the Clipse for a minute," says Scoop. "I talked to Malice a few days ago—I’m going to be a part of Malice’s album and Pusha’s project. Actually, I think they also have Clipse record coming through G.O.O.D. Music besides their solo albums."

It's only a portion of the work to come from Deville—the son to founding Latin rap pioneer Kid Frost—who entered the Billboard charts last November with the Snoop Dogg’s club anthem “I Wanna Rock.” He's already laced the likes of Fat Joe, Game and Xzibit, and says he's still in the studio with the Doggfather, and sending records to Nicki Minaj and Diddy.

“I also have a big Linkin Park record that I’m about to remix," says Scoop on his way to a meeting in Los Angeles. "It’s going to be on their next album. LP really supported me since day one.”

Just as effortlessly as the West Coast native can cross genres, he can also jump regions, too. Earlier this year, he produced “Gangs of New York” for Left coaster Game and New York reps Jadakiss and Jim Jones.

“Game actually had three verses about New York on the song. He knew he wanted Jimmy and Jada. It was basically an ode to New York from an LA perspective," DeVille says. "Game had the whole melody in his head before I even made the beat." —Mikey Fresh
