Seth MacFarlane To Reboot "The Flinstones"

Fox just announced that Seth MacFarlane is set to helm a reboot of the iconic cartoon, which will begin production in Fall 2011 for a 2013 premiere.

“It’s appropriate that events have come full circle, allowing me to produce the newest incarnation of this great franchise," said MacFarlane who added that Fred Flinstone was one of the first cartoon characters he drew as a kid.  "Plus, I think America is finally ready for an animated sitcom about a fat stupid guy with a wife who’s too good for him." 

MacFarlane said that this version will be a remake. The characters will look the same but they'll introduce new technology, like  the animal version of an iPad.
