Fresh off the success of This Is the End, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are taking their directorial talents into the thriller department with the gaming-movie, Console Wars.
Sony has picked up feature rights from the upcoming Atlantic Books' title, Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo and the Battle that Defined a Generation, and are tapping Rogen and Goldberg to direct.
The premise of the movie version is a behind-the-scenes look at how Sega took on the juggernaut company, Nintendo, which spurred rhetoric and commentary from pundits and gaming fans alike. Scott Rudlin (Captain Phillips, Moneyball) is on hand to produce the picture.
Rogen and Goldberg, who teamed up to direct and write This Is the End, will direct Console Wars from their own script.
Author Blake Harris will be listed as an executive producer and will also co-direct a documentary on the same subject, with Rudin, Rogen and Goldberg producing as well.
