Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo, who recently dropped a major cameo-heavy music video for his song, "Atlanta, GA,” is now prepping a more star-studded remix video for his aptly titled Birdman-assisted single, “Birds."
The Benny Boom-directed clip is set to be shot in Florida.
“I had shot a little video for ‘Birds,’ but it was like a street video. I’m about to shoot it again," Shawty Lo told VIBE. "'Cause I just did the remix with Birdman, so we getting ready to shoot that in probably two to three weeks. It’s gon’ be crazy. I think we gon' take that video to Miami and have a real trill look in it. It’s gon' be both a day scene and night scene and club scene, too.”
While cameos have yet to be decided, Lo expects his artist friends in the Miami area to just pop in.
“I call some of them, and some of them just show up. If they hear about it, they just show up,” said Lo, who recently released his I’m Da Man 4 mixtape and is preparing to drop his sophomore album I Am Carlos this summer.
Recently, Lo teamed up with Lil Wayne for the “WTF” video, shot in Atlanta. Wayne's prison sentence, said Lo, won't damage his standing in the game.
“Wayne’s like one of the hardest workers in the game. He probably is the hardest worker in the game. And he done did so much, it’s gon’ be like he was [still] here. And that year [in prison], it’s gon’ be gone in no time.” --Linda Hobbs
