Sheek Louch Gets December Date For Def Jam Debut

Sheek Louch is swinging for the majors once again. 

The Yonkers rapper is set to drop his first Def Jam album Donnie G on Dec. 7—his first major label project since his solo debut on Universal, Walk Witt Me.

One-third of gutter rap group The Lox, Sheek has recently been lighting up the Internet with leaks from his upcoming fifth solo album (see street heater "Cocaine Trafficing" with Jadakiss) and upcoming mixtape with DJ Green Lantern, Donnie Def Jam: Guerrilla Warfare Vol. 1 (peep the Styles P-featured "My Pain"). While he's recently blessed features for Beanie Sigel and Joell Ortiz, he's following through with his next single "Quarter After 2." 

As for the too-long-awaited Lox reunion album, Sheek told VIBE in June that the lyrical trio is still signed to Interscope, but is fielding offers for a group deal from other labels. "Puff made an offer so we're trying to see what's good," Sheek said. "Diddy still has a perfect ear and eye for talent and he's just getting involved with everybody that's out there that's hot right now."

"The Lox—point blank—will bring New York City rap back. Hip-hop back itself, period," he continued. "And that's how strongly I feel on that project. I think they're all waiting for it. Everybody."
