The West Coast rap legend, Snoop Dogg, has paired up with Dam-Funk under the moniker “Snoopzilla” to bring the groove back to music in their new collaborative album, 7 Days Of Funk, out December 10th.

Snoop paid homage to one of his funk inspirations, Bootsy Collins, who went by Bootzilla with his new alias Snoopzilla. His collaboration with Dam-Funk came after a chance meeting and shared love of funk music: “I’ve had funk influences in my music my whole career. Dam-Funk is cold. He’s keeping the funk alive and I knew I had to get down with him.”

Their first official single, ‘Faden Away’, is out today. Dam-Funk talks about his experience of working with Snoopzilla on this album – “Snoop knew what I was thinking without me having to articulate it. That’s how you know when you gel artistically with someone”.

We have the behind-the-scenes access to their jam sessions below; Snoop says it all with the closing quote: “When we put it out it’s gon’ speak for itself…if the shit ain’t right who gives a fuck, there you go as long as we like it.”
