This looks dope.
Solange Knowles is gearing up to release a compilation of new and exciting artists on her own independent label, Saint Records. The album, Saint Heron, will contain 12 songs handpicked by Solange herself and feature artists such as Cassie, Jade J, Starchild, BC Kingdom, and more.
The first single is a previously unreleased version of Kelela's "Go All Night", originally featured on her popular Cut For Me project as a two-part interlude. "With Saint Heron," says Knowles, "I really wanted to celebrate and continue to cultivate the community for genre defying R&B artists.” She also said that after personally connecting with all of the artists on the compilation, she wants SaintHeron.com to be "a home for music and cultural enthusiasts who want to see content that really reflects the community we are a part of. "
Saint Records will launch SaintHeron.com with exclusive interviews, essays, and artist profiles on the varied artists involved with the label. They've already put up interviews with Kelela, BC Kingdom, and visual artist Rashaad Newsome, whose work has been in the Museum of the Modern Art and the New Orleans Museum of of Art.
