It seems like Sons of Anarchy creator is taking his talents to sci-fi land!

Kurt Sutter is staying with the FX family to produce a new series alongside John Shiban, a former showrunner for AMC’s Hell on Wheels. According to Deadline, the duo have closed a deal with the cable network for the show Lucas Stand.

The premise of the show is said to follow a former special ops soldier who can travel through space and time to slay “Hell’s law-breaking demons.” It will be a salvation quest, meaning that something traumatic happened in our hero’s life, which will no doubt feature a lot of profanity and bullets a-flying. The project further extends Sutter’s relationship with FX, which also includes a dark comedy called Diva. Clown. Killer., potentially starring Katey Sagal.

The solid partnership between Sutter and Shiban comes two months after the former blasted AMC over the big showrunner turnover on the network’s series. His post was inspired by the firing of Glen Mazzara from The Walking Dead, which came on the heels of Shiban’s decision to step down as showrunner of AMC’s Hell On Wheels.
