Sony Pictures' surprise hit, "Hotel Transylvania," made an impact big enough for the studio to call for a sequel. Details after the jump.
The studio is now confirming that a sequel to its box office vamp hit "Hotel Transylvania," aptly titled "Hotel Transylvania 2," is scheduled to be released September 25, 2015. No other major details have been announced as of press time. But director Genndy Tartakovsky ("Dexter's Laboratory," "Star Wars: The Clone Wars") is already slated to helm "Popeye," set for release September 2014.
The first monster hotel flick starred Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Steve Buscemi and recently made single heartthrob, Selena Gomez, and became a surprise smash hit, earning more than $253 million worldwide. Tartakovsky's charismatic animation style should return for Sony's second effort, but we'll have to see if that comes to pass.
