Spike Lee is reprising his iconic character Mookie (from Do The Right Thing) for a forthcoming film entilted Red Hook Summer, which premieres at the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 22.

The movie stars Jules Brown, Toni Lysaith, Nate Parker, James Ransone, Keke Palmer and Thomas Jefferson Byrd, and features the diverse group of characters sweating it out during a summer in Brooklyn. The film follows the main character, Flik, who is sent to spend the summer with his grandfather in Brooklyn at a housing project called Red Hook.

The movie doesn’t have a theatrical release date yet, but since Spike Lee is directing we’re going to be optimistic that it might be good.

Do you think Mookie will be married to his girlfriend from Do the Right Thing?
