Spike Lee's dad is a legendary jazz musician, but it seems his neighbors aren't exactly jazz enthusiasts.
According to the New York Post, 85-year-old Bill Lee is not endearing himself to his neighbors in Washington Park, Brooklyn, thanks to his late-night music sessions. Lee has lived in the home for 40 years, but a neighbor told The Post that Lee hosts “a constant parade of musicians” in his apartment, and that they play until 2 A.M. or later.
Cops have been called at least 17 times on noise complaints. Bill's wife Susan says "Why should anybody who’s lived a certain way in a neighborhood be forced to change? The thing that bothers me most about it is the attempt to criminalize and demonize the music and the musicians.”
Spike Lee (surprisingly) did not comment on the situation.
