Spike Lee's 'Malcolm X' Selected For Preservation In National Film Registry

Spike Lee's 'Malcolm X' Selected For Preservation In National Film Registry

Posted December 30, 2010

The Spike Lee classic, Malcolm X was chosen by The Library of Congress as one of the 25 films that will be preserved in its National Film Registry.

The 1992 biography depicting the life of Civil Rights leader Malcolm X is riddled with a star cast and powerful cameos. Denzel Washington, Angela Bassett, Reverend Al Sharpton and Nelson Mandela are just a few of the people who filled out the roles illustrating those days and times.

There are over 500 films in the Registry, but this is definitely one African Americans should be excited about. Nestled beside other great classic, Spike's can now forever be preserved and celebrated. -Niki McGloster
