Square Enix's Sleeping Dogs Looks Like A Howling Good Time

Reviews are flying in from all over lauding Square Enix's action-adventure game Sleeping Dogs. With it's release happening next week for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, the gang has let go this new launch trailer to properly introduce the title to gamers.

Sleeping Dogs finds you in the role of Wei Shen, a Hong Kong cop who goes undercover in a notorious Triad gang. Players will perform a variety of dastardly deed in order to earn the trust of the criminal organization. All the while, Shen will be secretly gathering information on the Triads and find spectacularly sneaky ways to sabotage them. Much like the beloved Grand Theft Auto IV, Sleeping Dogs' gameplay features a mixture of driving and cover-based shooting. Dogs differs in the fact that it emphasizes hand-to-hand combat over sheer gunplay. Wei Shen can go Jet Li/Jackie Chan on his foes by utilizing his martial arts skills. Shen can also use objects in the environment, like refrigerator doors or circular saws, to finish off his opponents.

North America will get to unleash the Dogs first on August 14th. The game will then make its way to stores in Australia and Europe on the 16th and 17th, respectively.
