Star Jones returned to ABC's The View Wednesday (Feb. 22) morning as a guest to promote heart disease awareness among women.
Jones had been tossing shade at Barbara Walters since being let go in June 2006 but she now acknowledges that it wasn't a graceful departure and wants to let bygones be bygones. However, of course Barbara Walters insisted on discussing why she left and the drama behind it, which prompted Jones to explain her actions.
"It was ugly. Everything. It was a bad emotional time. Nasty things were being said in the media," stated Jones.
After Jones' and Walters' falling out ABC decided that they would not renew Star's contract. Taking matters in to her own hands, Star announced on air that she was leaving The View.
"I wanted to go out on my own terms so that if I walked back here I'd feel good about it," she said about her then surprising decision. "I had eight fantastic years here. One was 'eh.' I came back to congratulate you on all you accomplished. I hope you congratulate me on what I accomplished."
Hopefully that was a real reconciliation and everyone has moved on.
