"Star Trek Into Darkness" Teaser Poster Promises Huge Action!

"Star Trek Into Darkness" Teaser Poster Promises Huge Action!

VIBE Pop Culture Posted December 3, 2012

J.J. Abrams is reluctant to give us the full warp drive when it comes to his latest project. But this latest morsel should go over well for Trekkies across the galaxy.

After the blockbuster director premiered a few frames of sequel outing "Star Trek Into Darkness" on Conan O'Brien's show, now we have the pleasure of showing you all the teaser poster, which you can see below.

Our nerd-esque guess is that that is Benedict Cumberbatch in the shiny jacket with the dark hair, overlooking a devastated city through a hole echoing the Starfleet logo. Fans of movie posters will instantly see echoes of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" and "The Dark Knight Rises" in this teaser poster, but there are worse models to take.

Also, judging by the building along the skyline, the poster prominently shows 23rd century London that has been devastated by... something OR someone. You can see the Gherkin and what looks like the London Eye, as well as Lloyds, the Shard and Tower 42.

You can take a guess as what else is featured in the poster below:

STID

"Star Trek Into Darkness" finds the crew of the Enterprise called back home, where they find an unstoppable force of terror that roosts from within their own organization, and now they must fight to save everything the world they know stands for! The sci-fi actioner stars Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson and Simon Pegg and will beam into theaters nationwide on May 17, 2013.
