Steroids Reportedly Found in Oscar “Blade Runner” Pistorius’ Home

In the latest development of the alleged Oscar “Bladerunner” Pistorius murder case, investigators are questioning the athlete’s use of steroids on the night of his model girlfriend Reena Steenkamp’s death.

The celebrated double-amputee Olympic runner has been charged with the murder of Steenkamp after the model was found dead in his home. Steenkamp had suffered four gunshot wounds and paramedics
were unable to resuscitate her on the scene.

An anonymous source has given details on items found inside of Pistorius’ home following Steenkamp’s death. Along with illegal steroids, police also found a 9-mm. handgun and a bloody cricket bat on the scene. Steenkamp was shot four times — in the head, chest, hip and hand — inside of the Olympic runner’s bathroom where she was believed to have been hiding from him. She was found dead around 3 a.m. last Thursday morning (Feb. 14).

“The suspicion is that the first shot, in the bedroom, hit her in the hip. She then ran and locked herself in the toilet,” the source told British newspaper The Sun. “She was doubled over because of the pain. He fired three more shots. She probably covered her head, which is why the bullet also went through her hand.”

Forensic tests have not confirmed whose blood was found on the cricket bat, but Pistorius will be tested for steroid use in an attempt to point the incident to “‘roid rage.” At his first court appearance, the
athlete broke down in tears while denying that he was guilty of the murder.

“The alleged murder is disputed in the strongest terms,” a statement released by Pistorius’ management team said. “He would also like to express his thanks through us today for all the messages of support
he has received — but as stated our thoughts and prayers today should be for Reeva and her family — regardless of the circumstances of this terrible, terrible tragedy.”

Steenkamp will be cremated in Port Elizabeth, South Africa on Tuesday (Feb. 20), on the same day Pistorius’ bail hearing will be held.
