'Storage Wars' Lawsuit Claims Show Is "Fake"

'Storage Wars' Lawsuit Claims Show Is "Fake"

Rachel Francois Posted December 11, 2012

There’s always a bit of doubt about how real reality television shows really are.

Well, former cast member, Dave Hester of Storage Wars is putting the show on blast and calling bluff on the A&E series.

Storage Wars which follows auctioneers and buyers who blindly bid on unclaimed storage units in hopes to strike it rich, is allegedly the subject of a multi-million dollar lawsuit filed by Hester, according to Radar Online.

Hester claims he was fired after he raised concerns about the show’s authenticity, citing that producers stage and script scenes and plant valuable items in storage units to make the show more alluring for viewers. He also accused the show’s executives of rigging the bidding process.

Hester’s contract for the upcoming fourth season was purportedly rescinded on October 1st after a coup d’état of sorts with other cast members and A&E senior Vice President, talent and production Neil Cohen happened on September 6.

Although, a spokesperson from A&E claims they have no knowledge of the lawsuit and have no comments on “pending or threatened litigation,” Radar Online has snagged a copy of the Tuesday morning filing. --Rachel Francois
