Suge Knight Joins PETA In The Fight Against Animal Cruelty

Posted June 13, 2011

Death Row Records co-founder and former CEO Suge Knight will be featured in a series of ads for PETA

(People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) as a part of their anti dog chaining campaign.

“Dogs deserve our love and attention not a life of ‘solitary confinement’ at the end of a chain,” he said, according to XXLMag.com.

“Dogs depend on us to take care of them, to keep them safe and healthy. Chaining a dog is one of the cruelest things you can to do them – they are social animals.”

That statement comes from a guy who reportedly used to keep an attack German Sheppard named Damu (Swahili for blood) in his Death Row Records office.  Change of heart? Marion "Suge" Knight, known for his aggressive reputation, might have a soft spot inside him afterall.

The former CEO isn't the only Hip Hop figure to collaborate with PETA in the fight against animal cruelty. He joins Waka Flocka Flame, who was featured in a PETA ad earlier this year where he posed nude, only sporting a few chains that covered his wang.  Known for his jewelry and tattoos, they called Waka's campaign "Ink, Not Mink: Be Comfortable in Your Skin & Let the Animals Keep Theirs."  —Aliya Faust
