After tearing up the Bobcats for a career and franchise high 61 points, Miami Heat forward LeBron James was asked by league officials to no longer wear his carbon-fiber black mask. James played nice and swapped it out for a clear one saying, “I’m good with the NBA. I am not against the NBA. I had a request, and I fulfilled it.”
But that doesn’t mean everyone was with James dropping the hero-esque face protector. Marvel Comic’s artist, Greg Land, created a mask inspired by Captain America and the James’ epic performance earlier this week. Land, famous for working on volumes including Iron Man, X-Men and the Fantastic Four and Marvel tweeted his image to King James to “honor his heroics” on the court.
