Surrounded by the safety of the breathtaking Woodward Reservoir, underneath the glimmering shine of the Harvest Full Moon and the Autumnal Equinox comes a gift-wrapped week of dance, music, yoga, art installations, sustainable living and five wonderful days of camping.
Starting on September 19th in Oakdale, California (90 miles from the SF Bay), this year's Symbiosis Gathering (#SG13), dubbed "The Next Burning Man" by festival participants, include Main Stage performances by Shpongle, STS9, the highly awaited US debut of Iamamiwhoami, Poliça, Mount Kimble, and Hudson Mohawke. For the first time ever, the legendary Edwardian Ball Roadshow, a whimsical world of eccentric theatrical entertainment with music, aerial acrobatics, circus arts, offbeat fashion and "ballroom" dancing, will be transported to Oakdale for it's inaugural festival launch.
Over two hundred acts, four main stages and surprises everywhere you look, the full lineup is about as eclectic as you can get, from gypsy to house to galactic bass to trance to world fusion, #SG13 comes equipped with it all. It doesn't stop there, also be sure to keep lookout for an original design display by Josh Flemming, one of the founders of The Do LaB and Lightning in a Bottle.
"The foundation of this event is built around principles of ecological, global, and holistic awareness," noted Karen KoChen of Symbiosis Events.
