Some people make resolutions, but Tatyana Ali is ringing in the new year with a brand new sitcom on TV One.
Executive produced by Martin Lawrence, Ali’s new comedy, Love That Girl!, centers on a young divorcee named Tyana Jones, (played by Ali), who juggles her newly single dating life with working in her father’s real estate firm and living with her spontaneous and unpredictable brother. Girl also stars Phil Morris (Seinfeld) as Tyana’s father and Alphonse McAuley (Fat Albert) as her brother.
“I’ve done pilots and episodic stuff over the years, but I haven’t been a regular on a show since The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. It’s amazing to be back on a sitcom,” says Ali, who also serves as another of the show's executive producers.
And Love That Girl! will also mark Lawrence’s semi-return to series television as well; he is slated to make several guest appearances on the show. This is TV One's first original scripted series and the network will air 26 episodes of the sitcom in 2011.
Love That Girl! premieres on TV One Jan. 10 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
